The Ngong Huruma Schools, just adjacent to the home, has Primary & Secondary Schools.

1) Primary School

It commenced in 1993. It comprises of the Kindergarten classes and Grade 1 to Grade 8. Ngong Huruma Primary School provides education for over 160 boys and girls, both from the orphanage and surrounding community, between the ages of 2 and 17. 15 teachers from the surrounding community are employed by the school.

Primary School: It includes

  • Lower class – from std.1 to std.3
  • Upper class – from std.4 to std.8

Additional Benefits: These are offered at no added cost. They include:

  • Free break-time tea and snacks for baby class, nursery and pre-unit pupils.
  • Lunch provided by the school.

2) Secondary School

It commenced in 2009. It comprises of Form 1 (Grade 9) to Form 4 (Grade 12) students both from the childrens' home and nearby community. The school has a population of over 140 students.

Both the Primary and Secondary schools are approved by the Kenyan Ministry of Education and are based on the 8-4-4 system of education. The Ministry of Education has already conducted an inspection survey of the school. The home has also obtained a school registration and authorization letter to build a permanent school. The schools are registered by the Government of Kenya and are run by Huruma Trust Fund.
